Driving to a Concert in Illinois

Last July I saw Iron Maiden at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois. I went with a few good friends and even though we had seen Iron Maiden previously, we were still very excited to see them again. We had about a two and a half hour drive ahead of us that warm afternoon, as we started out in Madison, Wisconsin. Luckily we had a GPS so we wouldn’t got lost and knew exactly where to go. Since we were going to be gone overnight and stay in a hotel, I set the alarm on my home security system from http://www.Securitychoice.com/ so I wouldn’t have any worries and could enjoy myself at the concert.

We had a lot of fun on the long drive down there and were singing songs in the car to help make the long drive more enjoyable. We arrived with plenty of time to spare and had excellent seats with a great view of the stage. Besides the actual show, one of the things that I enjoy about going to concerts is meeting new people. We had general admission seats on the floor and as always, everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to. Once Iron Maiden hit the stage, I think we all forgot how warm it was outside that day since we were having such a great time. Overall, it was an excellent show and the people that I was with definitely enhanced the experience and made it much more special.

Today’s Flowers:

From my 83-year-old neighbor’s little garden around her back porch. We were stuck there one day due to rain, and I just love the pretty flowers with the raindrops on them.

Beautiful colors! Fall colors! At least in the yard in here. I once was looking at the current trend of fashion and colors for the fall and winter. ‘Fashion experts’ can suggest what’s the in this season, we just have to be updated. If you don’t have much time to dig around the web, why not just look down on your yard. There we’ll find natural seasonal colors. How about shades of red and pink, browns for fall?

Miss Universe 2010

I watched the broadcast of the 2010 Miss Universe pageant which was held in Las Vegas last August 23. It is just some kind of fun to see the parade of beautiful women showcasing their attires, and their physical beauty. And more fun eh when your favorite candidate/s make it up to the finals.

I was specifically interested in the evening gown parade. This is Miss Mexico, Ximena Navarrete, and her red gown that won the best evening gown of the year. Isn’t red a sexy color! I like the design of her gown, and no wonder it was one of the best in the pageant. She carried it pretty well, while on the background John Legend was playing  a live performance. Miss Navarrete also won the Miss Universe title. One of the prizes, is one year stay at a Luxurious New York City apartment! Welcome to the big apple.

Women’s strappy winter boots

microsuede women's winter bootsFrom Salt Lake City on Tuesday, to Fort Worth, and then to Tennessee yesterday, my gray strappy Adi Designs Women’s Faux Fur Microsuede Boots finally arrived today! I am US size 7-8 depending on the shoes; with this one I ordered a size 8. And boy how it fits just right! It is lightweight and feels great on my feet. You can wear them in two ways, with the fur trim up or folded over, very trendy, however I prefer to wear it up. It is warm and comfy especially on the calves, the belt is adjustable however the top flaps are still bit too wide for me; there is no insulation at the bottom part of the shoes as the fur trim only goes down to the ankle, but if you wear good especially ‘thermal’ socks, you will be warm and cozy. It’s perfect with skinny jeans tucked in, leggings or skirts. The sole, especially behind the heel is very rigid, but I guess it just needs to be broken in. The zipper does not run all the way up, but it still makes it easy to slip on and line or adjust your tucked in jeans. It has good traction, perfect for walking on snows. I really like the chic faux fur-trimmed boots design overall, it is a good buy with such a good price. It is very comfortable wear, and the looks will surely make a fashion statement. You bet I have already applied waterproofing or protection spray on them.

Shapaholic speaks Prada!

My eldest sister is learning to speak and write Arabic language, she has an interpreter or translator too with her every time; my elder sister speaks Japanese; me, I speak Prada! :D ! Geee. You guessed I just watched “The Devil wears Prada” and the “Confessions of a Shopaholic!” There is nothing wrong with keeping up with good fashion or even just wearing normal or ordinary apparel, as long as we know how to carry ourselves. But of course, if we are to face prominent people or not, on the job or whatever setting in the city or wherever, we should be presentable. I have no babies to take care of, but myself alone this time, and I am confident in me, and with that independence and self-reliance we can shine. Live and enjoy life to the fullest, whatever language you speak.
